Review: Mikatvonk CC cream whitening anti-winkle in 01 Natural Beige!

Color changing CC Cream! Yes, I know, I know! CC creams have been out for sometime now but I've been very slow to try any as I'm just not keen on buying something that's like a BB cream but seemingly half the time less pigmented! However recently I've been seeing some awesome reviews of more pigmented ones and I've got my eye on the Bourjois CC cream but I'm going to have to order it online through ASOS if I decide to buy it.

Here I have a CC cream from the brand Mikatvonk or Mik@vonk! I've done a review of a BB cream from them a short while ago that had an amazing color match to me and so when I was sent this by the same company I was quite keen to see how it would perform!

Continue below for the review!

Mikatvonk CC cream whitening anti-winkle in 01 Natural Beige! (I was very intrigued and glad to see that this is meant to be a 50% skincare and 50% make up product!)

Packaging!

I really loved the packaging the moment I saw it. So clean, refreshing and it looks like a skincare product! The box packaging is white and the metallic writing reflects like a hologram which is a lovely touch. All the description is in english all over the box and the ingredients list is listed on the shorter side of the box.

The tube itself is a long slim tube with a twist and click on cap. The plastic is a thick but very soft material so it's super easy to squeeze out product easily. There's the name of the shade on the back of the tube as well as a detailed description of the product. I have no qualms about the packaging at all!

I love how the product has a seal on the nozzle!
My bare skin! I have some darkness under the eyes and lots of light pigmentation around the nose/mouth area!
A swipe of Mikatvonk CC cream whitening anti-winkle in 01 Natural Beige! It's a white color initially!
You need to work this product with your fingers into the skin for the product to change color so that it blends well into the skin! However I have a feeling that this shade doesn't change much darker although I can't be sure!

Once you start rubbing this in with fingers, this CC cream starts to change into a very nice neutral NC 20 ish shade!
Product!
This CC cream as stated by the product is meant to be a 50%/50% skincare and make up product and right off from trying it, it's a very nice and interesting cream. It has a creamy liquid consistency. It comes out of the tube like a creamy white and after blending on my arm/face for a few seconds, the white shade turns into a very neutral light flesh shade.

It has a light dewy finish after being left for awhile. It would not suit you if you are darker than a NC 20 unless you plan on powdering on top to make it match better. There are two shades that I can find that are listed, 02 is Pink Beige which I assume is more pink toned!

This cream has a light coverage, it really evens out the darkness under my eyes and the area around my nose and mouth but it's very flawless on my cheeks and elsewhere! I already have fairly clear skin with no blemishes so it really helps me to even out everything with a good light coverage. If you need spot concealing this can still work for you. However if you have very dark scars/discoloration or lots of blemishes this will not be suitable.

I find that the coverage is really basic and you can't really layer this to get a heavier coverage. I wear this set with my favorite ZA two way foundation powder and so it does decently in the hot and humid weather here. However this is not very good for Singapore weather overall. Unless you set it with a heavy powder I doubt this will last more than two hours without melting off like everything else

Up close as you can see, this really evens out the complexion very well although my cheek freckles are still slightly noticeable. In all of these photos I have not set the product with power yet.

Swatches of Wearing Mikatvonk CC cream whitening anti-winkle in 01 Natural Beige! (from the tube, initial swatch, after being rubbed with fingers)
As seen above, this product is a almost pure white out of the tube, it takes about 10-15 seconds of rubbing to achieve the color I got on my skin. It's a very light neutral shade and would be best for those with neutral or light pink/yellow undertones.

Comparison of BB cream/CC cream /foundation: Mikatvonk Super 3 Smart BB cream, Mikatvonk CC cream whitening anti-winkle in 01 Natural Beige, Sunkiller BB Perfect Strong, The Face Shop Power Perfection BB cream in Natural Beige, Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in 53
The Mikatvonk BB cream is great mach for me but nowhere as good as the Sunkiller. This CC cream is a slight thinner textured compared to the brand's BB cream but the coverage isn't as good. Compared to the Sunkiller BB cream it's more BB cream like in texture whereas Sunkiller is very liquid like a milky sunscreen.

The Face Shop's Bb cream is heavier in coverage compared to the Mikatvonk CC cream although the color is a tad greyish. The Bourjois healthy mix serum is now a tad dark for me but has the most 'foundation' type feel and has a light/medium coverage. Out of all of these I don't reach for the CC cream as often as the weather in Singapore is just so hot and humid.

Paid: Sent to me for consideration! (Retails for $32.90 SGD or about $25.90 USD)

Recommend: Yes, but strictly for those who firstly can find a match, need minimal coverage and prefers a brightening and lightweight type of product. This can work in the hot weather but only with a good pressed powder on top.

Repurchase: No, this is a lovely product and I don't own any other CC creams or light coverage products so I'm not sure how to compare this fairly. I wouldn't buy it again as it's not for me, I prefer a heavier coverage!

Bottom line: This is a very good for the skin type base product that feels very lightweight and comfortable on the face. It does not contain SPF but has a great ability to even out the skin and brighten out the complexion very naturally. You will need a powder to keep this on in the hot and humid weather here in Asia, otherwise this would probably will a great product for those in cooler weather!

Do you use any CC creams in your routine?
Do you prefer light coverage?
Let me know!

Thank you!

  1. I like that is has a very light, natural finish. It actually looks really good on you, though I think I would need it to be a little more yellow for me.
It's too bad it doesn't suit the humidity in Singapore though.

  3. I prefer base products with more coverage and so I'll be skipping out on this. I just want to say that your skin is amazing though! I'm so jealous!

  4. color matching is half the battle dude. i've only tried the tony moly cc cream but it didn't really match so i'm trying to sell it. i would prefer something with spf though so i'd probably skip this. light coverage is good for me though.

  6. That looks great on you but I think the shade is too light for me and I do prefer more coverage. I haven't tried any products from this brand but I think I'll skip this one. Thanks for the review though! :D
